Academic Orientation

Academic Orientation was the next step of FEP that we had to get through before we attend our real University life. This event occured from the 5th of September 2016 to 15th September 2016, approximately 10 days.

What’s the difference between Academic Orientation and General Orientation you ask? Well, in General Orientation we were just attending some seminars and listening to something like regulations, academic life, and many more theories. But in Academic Orientation, it’s as if we’ve already attended University. We were taught some real lessons even though there were still some seminars. In Computer Science class, we were introduced to Algorithm and Programming language. This is the first chapter that we’ll get through later on in our class. This Academic Orientation itself was held in order to help freshmans to be accustomed to university because how lessons in university are given is totally different from high school’s. We were given exercises and in the last day, an exam. Yes you read it right, an EXAM. Fortunately, the score won’t be counted for our grades in University. It was done so that the freshmans won’t be shocked of how the real exam or lesson is. I personally think that this Orientation benefits us more than we could ever think. I’m really glad that i choose Binus University as the place to continue my study on.
